Happy Winter Everyone!
It's a great time to snuggle up with a good book and catch up on
your reading. Stop in to check out some books or audiobooks, and don't forget
to let us know at the desk if there is something that we don't have that you
would like. We can't guarantee that we'll be able to purchase every item
requested, but we'll certainly take your input into consideration. Ebooks are now available for Kindles, Nooks, iPads, and plenty of other devices through the Southern California Digital Library.
If you don't have a library card, you'll need to come
in with a picture ID with your current address. If your photo ID doesn't have
your current address, you'll need to also bring a bill or something else with
your name and address on it. Fill out a very short and simple form, and
in just minutes you'll have a new library card. During the first month you are
a new cardholder, you are limited to two checkouts at a time. Once
you've been here for a month and proved that you are a responsible patron, you
may check out up to 15 items at one time. DVD checkouts are limited to two per
adult cardholder, and one per juvenile cardholder to ensure that we have plenty
to go around.
If you need to use a computer while you are here, you
may either sign on using your library card number, or make a reservation. If
you do not have a card, ask about a guest pass at the desk. Library
cardholders may also make reservations up to 24 hours in advance, so if you know
you need a computer tomorrow, go ahead and reserve it today using your card
number. We have two 15-minute express computers, and the most of the
computers may be used for one hour. We can't usually extend your time,
because chances are the computer is reserved for another person when your time
is up. Therefore, it is really important to save your work before your time is
up. If you do not have a thumb drive to save your work, they are available at
the desk at our cost, which is $7.00.
Be sure to come to the desk with any problems, questions, or
suggestions - we are here to help you. Thank you for using the Banning
Library District!
